The BMW Adapter will fit all BMW Nav bases that had or are currently using the BMW Motorrad Nav V and Nav VI base with the lock on the left side. The adapter is currently verified on the following BMW Models:

What is the difference between the Basic BMW adapter and Version II for the Zumo XT and XT2?
The basic BMW Adapter comes with an “L” plate that attaches to the BMW Motorrad NAV holder and allows the Zumo XT or XT2 to be locked in the BMW NAV holder like you could with the Garmin NAV V or NAV VI with the factory keyed lock on the NAV holder. The adapter kit also contains a matching BMW plug that you need to attach to the wiring harness that is included with the purchase of the Zumo XT or XT2. It requires you to crimp (supplied) or solder the wires to the Zumo wiring harness. If you have the tools and ability to crimp or solder the wires to the wiring harness, then the basic BMW Adapter kit would probably be all that you need.
With Version II of the BMW Adapter Kit, you get the The BMW Adapter described above and a Garmin ZUMO XT or XT2 NAV base and wiring harness with the BMW matching plug already installed. The wiring harness for the XT2 is cut to a custom length to match the original BMW wiring harness. This makes the installation of Version II a true “Plug and Play.” The wiring harness for the XT Version II is left at the factory length because of the power converter mounted at the end of the wire.
Version II is also great for those riders who have more than one motorcycle and want to share their Zumo XT or XT2 between two motorcycles.
There is also an exchange program for Version II. After you purchase Version II for the ZUMO XT or XT2, you can return to us your original base and wiring harness that came with your Zumo and you will receive a $60 refund. Details are included with the purchase of Version II.
Will the BMW Wonder Wheel still control the Garmin Zumo XT or XT2?
You lose the function of the wonder wheel with the Zumo XT/XT2. It has nothing to do with the adapter. Garmin did not carry that feature forward from the Motorrad Nav V/VI. However, you can still access all the information on your TFT or instrument cluster.
You will not be able to zoom in/out on the map with the wonder wheel. However, on the Zumo XT/XT2 map screen itself you can zoom in/out with the +/- buttons on the left side of the screen or using the two finger “pinch/spread” to zoom in/out similar to a cell phone.
We do not know of any new generation Garmin GPS unit that has wonder wheel function like Garmin had with the BMW Motorrad NAV V/VI. That NAV/GPS was a special unit made for BMW. We also liked the features of the wonder wheel, but you will get used to not having it pretty quick.
